Contribute to the Thanksgiving Offering
Valley's annual special Thanksgiving Offering, which is above and beyond your regular giving to the General Fund and Outreach Fund, will go toward these two projects:
ACROSS THE STREET: HARBOR HOUSE
Founded by Valley members John and Anne Busa, Harbor House in Torrington, CT, blesses more than 280 people in need of food and a place to stay each week. Harbor House offers access to clothing, showers, laundry facilities, a computer, a P.O. Box, Bible studies, and a recovery group. Harbor House is a place where people can experience the transformative love of Jesus! Your Thanksgiving Offering will help financially support the vital services Harbor House provides.
AROUND THE WORLD: SUDAN CRISIS RELIEF
War, disease, and natural disasters are colliding in Sudan, leaving millions trapped in unimaginable hardship. This year, Valley’s Thanksgiving Offering will provide safe water, sanitation supplies, essential items, food, medical support, and cholera prevention to Sudanese families through our global partner, World Relief. Your generosity can bring hope to those who need it most.
2. FoodCare Drive
Help local families in need this holiday season by donating food to Gifts of Love - in three easy steps!
- Pick up a FoodCare Bag in the Welcome Area.
- Fill it with groceries and goods. Recommended items are listed on a card attached to each bag.
- Bring the bag back to the Welcome Area.
3. Foster Care Toy Drive
Bring some Christmas cheer to a child, student, or young adult in foster care! Gifts will be given to Department of Children and Families workers, who will distribute them to children on their caseloads. There are two ways to donate:
- Place a NEW unwrapped toy or book under the Christmas tree in the Welcome Area at Valley.
- Place a $15-$25 gift card in the Offering box in the Welcome Area.
