REACHING THE HARTFORD AND LITCHFIELD COUNTIES TOGETHER

Valley offers opportunities for our congregation to serve our community and share the grace and mercy of God alongside the organizations we support. Valley’s partners support vulnerable people, respond to crisis and recovery needs, and provide education and empowerment to those in need. We focus on building relationships rather than simply providing services, helping our congregation participate in God’s work throughout our local communities.

Known: What’s Your Story?

THRIVE Farmington Valley Conference

Valley is hosting Vision New England’s THRIVE Farmington Valley Conference. We are honored to welcome Mac Owen, a long-time national and global director and one of the founding members of Celebrate Recovery.

Alongside his wife, Mary, Mac has devoted years to helping people discover freedom from the hurts, habits, and hang-ups that can keep them from experiencing the abundant life Christ offers. His ministry reflects a deep commitment to meeting people where they are, listening to their stories, and pointing them toward the transforming hope of Jesus Christ.

The free event includes a continental breakfast, worship, display tables, and four breakout sessions. Registration is kindly requested and will become available soon.

Disability Awareness Lunch

Wednesday, October 14

Discover how disability ministry is opening doors for the Gospel around the world.

This free educational lunch is designed to introduce people to the work of Special Hope Network and help churches explore future opportunities for involvement.

Guest speaker Holly Nelson has been bringing transformational care, critical resources, and a loving community of support to children with intellectual disabilities and their families in Lusaka, Zambia, since 2010 through Special Hope Network. Lunch is free.

Thanksgiving FoodCare Drive

October 31–November 24

Welcome Area

Help a family in need enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday.

Local Outreach is running a food drive to benefit Gifts of Love. Blue bags with a list of recommended nonperishable items will be available outside of the sanctuary.

Christmas Toy Drive

November 21–December 13

Welcome Area

Give a gift to a child, student, or young adult in foster care.

Participate by placing a new, unwrapped toy or a $15–$25 gift card under the Christmas Tree in the Welcome Area. These gifts will be given to DCF workers to distribute to children on their caseloads.

Please do not give toy weapons or clothing donations.

Every person has a story. During Outreach Week, we'll take time to look inward and consider our own personal and faith stories—and then look outward, asking how our stories can become opportunities to connect with the people around us.

Simply asking someone, “What's your story?” can open the door to genuine conversation, deeper understanding, compassion, and meaningful connection.

Second Saturdays

Serving Our Community Together

Valley is dedicating the second Saturday of each month to serving our community! Join as a group, with your family, or on your own.

Opportunities include partnering with local outreach ministries, serving through community projects, or helping right here on campus. There’s a place for everyone to participate and make a difference together.

100% of your Outreach giving helps Valley pray, give, and go as we participate in God's global mission. Valley's financial support of missionaries, partners, and initiatives is funded entirely by the Outreach Fund. There is no endowment or reserve. Outreach happens because God's people give.
