Valley Kids Teacher/Helper

Kids

At Valley, we are passionate about helping children come to know and follow Jesus. We desire to see all children have the opportunity to hear about Jesus while in the security of a safe, clean, and loving environment. But we need teachers and leaders! No teaching experience necessary.

* We are looking for Actors to be on stage. Skits are part of each lesson and makes for a fun way to share God's Word

*We are in need so adults that have a heart for children with Diverse Abilities.  These Kids need what we call a "Special Buddy" to help them navigate the classroom. If you have a heart to see a child connect in a more meaningful way please consider this opportunity to help.

We’d love to talk with you if you are interested in getting involved, as our team is always looking for more people who love kids and love to either teach or assist. No teaching experience is required.  If you're interested, email Caroll Cyr at

Ready to start? At Valley, the safety of our children is a priority. To work with kids, you must complete a process called KidSafe.

KidSafe Security Process

Thank you for your interest in serving with students at Valley. It takes an army of dedicated volunteers to provide all the programs available in our student  and children's ministries each week.

APPLICATION

SAFETY FIRST

To ensure the safety of our children and those working with them, either at the church or offsite at an organized church event,  we require that all adults (18 and older) complete the KidSafe process.

Based on a person's character, background and experience, this process determines suitability for working with minors (infants through 17-year-olds) at Valley.

THE PROCESS
  • Each person completes a KidSafe application, including current contact information and the email addresses of three (3) character references. These three references must not be related to the applicant.
  • References are contacted to check on the applicant's suitability for working with children.
  • The applicant receives an email directing them to the Secure Search Website.
  • The applicant must go to that site and give permission for a background check to be run.
  • The background check is completed and assessed by the Database Coordinator.
  • The applicant will receive an email from the Database Coordinator containing a link for the Ministry Safe Sexual Abuse Awareness Training.
  • An interview is conducted with the applicant by a church staff member or an approved interviewer.
  • Once the background check is clear, the references found to be positive, the online training is completed, and the interviewer determines the applicant is suitable to work with children, the process is complete.

Thank you for your willingness to serve and for taking the time to walk through this process.
