Introducing ... Impact Coaching!
Impact Coaching is a new SERVE initiative at Valley that equips individuals to step into ministry with confidence, clarity, and joy. By understanding your God-given serving skills, engaging deeplty with others, and continuing to grow spiritually, participants will be equppied to serve where they can make the greatest Kingdom impact!
Who should participate?
Impact Coaching is open to all Valley attenders, whether you're already serving in some capacity or uncertain where to begin.
What's my commitment?
Once assigned to one of our trained coaches, you and your coach will schedule a couple 1:1 sessions together. That's it!
How does it work?
- When you enroll, you'll receive a "Ministry Vitals" Inventory and Invitation.
- You will be prayerfully assigned to one of our trained coaches.
- The sessions center on helping participants identify their SHAPE, a framework that highlights your unique design for ministry. Scroll below for an expanded definition of SHAPE.
- Coaches help the participant understand how they may already be using some of their gifts, and help assess their overall spiritual health. Coaches then help the participant discern where and how they might best serve, at Valley or in our communities.
Is the coaching effective?
Yes! Dozens of Valley attenders have already taken Impact Coaching. In 2025 we trained volunteer coaches, who then trained our first group of people wanting to learn how to serrve better. People are already seeing fruit from going through the coaching sessions.

SHAPE is a well-known framework that equips people to serve to their strength. It goes beyond just identifying spiritual gifts, as you see below:
Spiritual Gifts: Abilities given by the Holy Spirit to build up the church.
Heart: Passions, interests, and motivators.
Abilities: Natural talents and acquired skills.
Personality: Traits and temperament that shape how one serves best.
Experience: Life events and spiritual journey that equip them for ministry.
