Valley Kids Support

Kids

Valley Kids support volunteers help make the entire ministry work toward its goal of helping children come to know and follow Jesus. Here are a few opportunities for you to serve outside of the classroom experience:

"Little Library" Leader

Help kids and parents check out books, videos, and more from our own special kids library! Training provided.

Team Leader

These behind-the-scenes volunteers help support, encourage, and organize our teachers and helpers.

Resource Room Helper

Our resource room has hundreds of items that won't organize themselves? In this role, you'll help everyone else serving in Valley Kids!

Tech Team

If you like computers and consider yourself a Techie, and would like to learn how to help run the media for Sunday mornings, Tuesday nights or other special events then this is the spot for you.

Craft Prep

Most preschool crafts need to be prepared ahead of time for Sunday mornings. Kits can be picked up and returned at your convenience.

If you're interested in any of these opportunities, please contact Caroll Cyr at

READY TO START?

At Valley, the safety of our children is a priority. To work with kids, you must complete a process called KidSafe.

KidSafe Security Process

Thank you for your interest in serving with students at Valley. It takes an army of dedicated volunteers to provide all the programs available in our student  and children's ministries each week.

APPLICATION

SAFETY FIRST

To ensure the safety of our children and those working with them, either at the church or offsite at an organized church event,  we require that all adults (18 and older) complete the KidSafe process.

Based on a person's character, background and experience, this process determines suitability for working with minors (infants through 17-year-olds) at Valley.

THE PROCESS
  • Each person completes a KidSafe application, including current contact information and the email addresses of three (3) character references. These three references must not be related to the applicant.
  • References are contacted to check on the applicant's suitability for working with children.
  • The applicant receives an email directing them to the Secure Search Website.
  • The applicant must go to that site and give permission for a background check to be run.
  • The background check is completed and assessed by the Database Coordinator.
  • The applicant receives an email from Database Coordinator with a link to the online Ministry Safe Sexual Abuse Awareness Training.
  • An interview is conducted with the applicant by a church staff member or an approved interviewer.
  • Once the background check is clear, the references found to be positive, the online training is complete and the interviewer determines the applicant is suitable to work with children, the process is complete.

Thank you for your willingness to serve and for taking the time to walk through this process.
