Valley Outreach

Jesus tells us to “go and make disciples of all nations.” At Valley, we actively reach out to our neighbors in the local community and beyond, even to some of the world’s most remote and impoverished areas.

Read Valley's World Outreach Strategy

Jesus charges us with the command to "tend and feed his sheep." We care because He cares. Throughout Scripture, we see Jesus meeting physical and emotional needs, like hunger and disease, in addition to meeting spiritual needs.

Partner with us!  You can:

Pray.  (Partnerships)

The Word of God says that prayer changes hearts, fights spiritual battles, and stirs up faith. Missionaries need our prayer support above all else and will often tell our World Outreach Committee how they covet and value prayer in their daily struggles. Our hope is that every individual, family, small group, and community will build a relationship with and be in prayer for at least one missionary or missionary family supported by Valley.

View our Missionary Directory for more information about each missionary. Some Valley missionaries are not listed online due to the sensitive nature of their assignments. Contact the World Outreach office for a complete list of Valley-supported missionaries.

Steps to Becoming a Prayer Partner:

  1. View our missionary directory below.
  2. Choose a missionary(ies) based on your interest in a country or discipline. Or you may choose a missionary that you met during WOW or another missionary meeting.

Give.  (Faith Promise)

Rescuing abandoned kids in the Caribbean. Reaching Muslims with Christ’s love in the Middle East. Restoring hope among the poor around the world and in Connecticut. This is what your Faith Promise Giving accomplishes every year. There’s no endowment for World Outreach. No special reserve fund. We support 28 missionaries and 17 agencies with whatever Valley attendees give. It’s that simple – and that vulnerable. Without Faith Promise Giving, fewer kids are rescued. Fewer non-believers are reached. Less hope is restored. Our goal is 100 percent Valley participation, so even your small Faith Promise will help reach our goal.

Will you participate? Please pray about Faith Promise Giving, or make your Faith Promise now, online.

Go. (Mission Trips)

We encourage all church attendees to seriously consider being the hands, feet, and heart of Christ on a short-term mission trip. Valley provides varied annual opportunities to travel across cultures bringing hope and light to different people groups.

All short-term mission trips are currently suspended due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. Plans for summer trips are being evaluated. Please check back soon for updated information.

Perspectives is Coming to Valley!

Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m., January 19 - May 11, 2021

Perspectives Graphic

Perspectives is a 15-week course about God’s plan to reconcile every people, tribe, nation, and tongue to Himself. You’ll hear from a different instructor each week as we take an in-depth look at missions from four perspectives: biblical, historical, cultural, and strategic. You’ll learn about God’s plan of redemption from Genesis to the present, and the how YOU fit into it.

Classes will be held in-person at Valley Avon. There are three different levels of enrollment to choose from. Everyone is welcome to attend the first two weeks free before committing to the course.
