SPECIAL ALL-CHURCH EVENTS

Christian Illusionist Show: David Laflin and family return for a special evening of "Tricks and Truth." The tricks will be mind-bending; the truths will be gospel-affirming! This performance is for the entire family. The show is Friday, October 29, at 7 p.m. at Avon High School. Tickets are limited, so get yours today! The cost is $8 for those 16 and over, $5 for kids ages 3-15. Children 2 and under are free but require a ticket. Masks will be required for everyone when inside the school.

"Make a Difference" Month: Ready to make a difference in the lives of others this holiday season? From November 1-22, we'll contribute our time and treasures to help refugees, bring a smile to a child's face at home and around the world, and more. Details coming soon!

Thanksgiving Service & Baptisms: This annual night of inspiration is Tuesday, November 23, at 6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Are you interested in getting baptized at the service? The class is November 15.

Saturdays at 5 p.m. (In Person)

Contemporary worship service in the Sanctuary. Valley Kids Church for kids 3 years old and younger.  Dinner follows the service in Fellowship Hall, available for $8 (adults) and $5 (kids), with a $32 family maximum.

Sundays at 9 a.m. (In Person)

Contemporary worship service in the Sanctuary. Valley Kids Church for infants-Grade 4.

Sundays at 9 a.m. (Online)

Our online service is on the move! We will now offer a livestream of the 9 a.m. Contemporary worship service at our Church Online site and Facebook page.

We are always looking for the next member of our Worship Team, choir, orchestra, or other contributor to our musical offerings during worship! It's a fantastic way of serving using your performing arts talents.

Valley Kids Church Times

Valley Kids Church is a great way for your child to come to know and follow Jesus! All of our environments, including our new Nursery and Family Room, are sanitized and staffed by trained, background-checked volunteers dedicated to providing an amazing interactive experience for your child.

You don't need to register in advance; just head to the Children's Check-In Desk when you arrive at church, and we'll get you signed in.

Saturday at 5 p.m.: Our Family Room is open for your use. 

Sunday at 9 a.m.: Valley Kids Church for infants-Grade 4.

Sunday at 10:45 a.m.: Valley Kids Church for infants-Grade 4.

Valley Kids Clubs

Our Tuesday night clubs are for kids in Grades 1-4. GEMS (for girls) and BLAST! (for boys) are held in the building from 6:15-7:45 p.m.

Clubs include fun activities and songs, crafts, and workshop projects, as well as special speakers and events. Your kids will love our great videos and interactive Bible lessons.  

The cost remains the same: $15 per child for a half year. Register your child below!

Valley Students is now composed of four groups: Grades 5-6, Grades 7-8, High School, and College-Age.

Wednesday Night is Student Night!

Students take over the building on Wednesdays once more this year! Our new Grade 5-6 Wednesday night group is called "Root 56." Students in Grades 7-8 will attend Riot, and high school groups will gather for Synergy. It all starts Wednesday, September 15, at 7 p.m. at Valley Avon. This group is for anyone of "college age," whether you are attending school or not. Currently we're gathering once per month for Young Adult Worship Nights at Valley Avon. The next one is October 14. Click here for more information on this group.

Valley Women

Mondays

Exercise and Fitness Group: This nutrition and fitness class is Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at Valley Avon. The class includes a moderate to challenging workout that requires participants to bring weights and a floor mat. All fitness levels are welcome. No registration required.

MOPS/MOMSnext: Just for moms, this group meets twice a month to laugh, support, and love each other like family. Activities include guest speakers, brunch, crafts, games, and even occasional nights out. The group meets two Mondays per month from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Women who are pregnant/adopting through moms of Grade 6 kids are welcome. Cost is $42 for the year. Childcare for ages 5 and under available for an additional fee. Scholarships are available. Click here to sign up.

Tuesdays

Precept Upon Precept: LuAnn Turbiak leads the group at 9:30 a.m. We begin a new six-week study on the book of Jude on January 4. Problems within the church prompted Jude to preach a strong message about God's judgment of sin. Did you get the message? Learn more about the day of judgment in this timely study, for such a time as this. **The group is meeting online via Zoom through the end of January. Morning Study: This group will work through the book “You'll Get Through This” by Max Lucado. Jo McCurdy and Sandy Martin will lead this group, which meets biweekly in New Hartford at 10 a.m. Book cost is $9. Click here to sign up.

Thursdays

Young Women's Group:  This small group just for women ages 20-35 meets Thursdays at 7 p.m. The group gathers at a private home in Farmington to study God's Word, pray, and nourish meaningful friendship. Click here to sign up.

BLESS Group: Valley Avon - Jenn Earnest leads a short-term group that will follow the BLESS concepts from Pastor Rob's sermon series. The group meets in person at noon in the Library. Click here to sign up.

Valley Men

Tuesdays

Men's small groups gather Tuesday mornings (6 a.m.) and evenings (6:15 p.m.). We will discuss our many challenges over the past year, and identify how to overcome those hurdles as we grow in Christ, connect with other guys, and strengthen our church! Join us in the Fellowship Hall.

Wednesdays

Portuguese-Speaking Group: This group for men, led by Jairo Sousa, meets at 7:30 p.m. at a private home in Avon.

Thursdays

Small group in Avon: This group meets weekly at a private home in Avon at 6:30 p.m. Led by Scott Sobolewski, the group will study James.

Saturdays

Small group in Avon: This group meets in person and online at 8 a.m. Led by Ed Poff.

Faithful Hands: Faithful Hands is a group of men that serves single mothers, widows, or any other person needing help by providing practical handyman services. The group meets in Room 206 for an hour on the second Saturday of each month, then goes out for two hours assisting with household and/or yard work, building relationships as they serve. Drawing Closer to Him - Small group at Valley Avon: For adults 40 and above. Led by Ed and Sherry Poff, this 9 a.m. group will study 1 Corinthians, going more in-depth into Pastor Rob's weekly sermon series. OWLS - Small group at Valley Avon: For Senior adults. Led by Pastor Skip Eggimann, this 9 a.m. group will study the book, "Jesus in Me: Experiencing the Holy Spirit as a Constant Companion" by Anne Graham Lotz.

BLESS Group: Valley Avon - Deborah Humphrey will lead a short-term group that will follow the BLESS concepts from Pastor Rob's sermon series. The group meets in person at 10:45 a.m. in Room 205 beginning January 16.

Seasons - Small group at Valley Avon:  For all adults. Led by Steve Tate, Warren Humphrey, and Rob Scott, this 10:45 a.m. group will study BLESS along with Pastor Rob's sermon series. Marriage Class at Valley Avon: For all married couples or those who are in a serious relationship leading to marriage. Led by Bill and Joan Maver, this 10:45 a.m. group is called using the book, "What Did You Expect?" by Paul Tripp. This will show you how to grow a thriving grace-based marriage in all circumstances and seasons of your relationship. The class will be held in the Library and begins January 30.

Small group in Canton: Led by Warren Humphrey, Deborah Humphrey, and Art Holden, this 4 p.m. group will meet at a private home in Canton.

Small group at Valley Avon: Led by Jeannine deLivron, this 6:30 p.m. group will meet on the first and third Sundays of the month in Room 209 and will be studying BLESS along with Pastor's Rob's sermon series.

Mondays

Litchfield small group: Howard and Cathie Branch lead this group that follows the sermon series. They are currently meeting online. Please send an email to . for the log-in information.

West Simsbury Prayer Group - Let’s pray! Join others in worship and petition as they call on God in a time of silent, corporate, and scriptural prayer. We meet Mondays at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Ed and Julie Lebo, and Carol Ingram, 24 Old Farms Rd, West Simsbury. All are welcome!

"Second Coming Prophecy": This class, led by Bob Sullivan, meets at 6:15 p.m. at Valley Avon.

ESL Class: Learn conversational English by talking with our friendly instructors about everyday topics. This class is free and meets at 6:15 p.m. in the Library, as well as online. Click here to register for the ESL class.

Burlington small group: Tom and Liz Cornish lead this group at a private home at 6:30 p.m.

Salisbury small group: Newt and Barbara Schoenly lead this group at a private home at 7 p.m.

Thursdays

BLESS Group: Linda Johnson leads a short-term group that will follow the BLESS concepts from Pastor Rob's sermon series. The group meets in person at 6:30 p.m. in Room 202.

Community Bible Study: This local chapter of the national CBS organization gathers at Valley and online Thursdays at 9:15 a.m. This year we will study Revelation, Philemon, 1-3 John, and Jude. Click here to go to the CBS website for more information and to sign up.

"Sanford and Suns":  This group is for couples or single parents, from 6-7:30 p.m. We enjoy dinner together, followed by a study for adults and childcare for kids. We'll be studying along with the current sermon series, as well as focusing on topics relevant to married couples and parents.

Bloomfield small group:  We are a mixed group of adults who meet in-person and via Zoom on Friday nights to help each other to follow Jesus. The group will be studying BLESS along with Pastor Rob's sermon series. We always welcome new people! To request the Zoom option, send an email to

Worship Nights

Monthly Worship Nights: Young Adult Worship Nights are back! Join us for food and fellowship in the Fellowship Hall, followed by music-filled worship in the Sanctuary. Worship Nights are 7-10 p.m. Next date: January 6. No sign-up necessary!

Small Groups

Sunday Morning Group: For all young adults, single or married. Lead by Sean Coughlin, this small group meets at 10:45 a.m. in the Café. Currently studying the “Life of Christ” by Irvin Jensen.

Wednesday Night Group: Led by Caezar Ilaya and Zachary Lobman, this small group will meet at a private home in Newington at 6:30 p.m., studying 1 Corinthians.

Thursday Night Group: This co-ed group for Young Adults meets at Valley Avon in Room 205 at 7 p.m.

Senior Adults

Sunday Morning Group

Valley’s Senior Adults group gathers Sundays at 9 a.m. in the Library. Pastor Skip Eggimann leads a study on the Holy Spirit called "Jesus in Me" by Anne Graham Lotz.

Senior Adult Luncheons

Always a popular midweek event, our next Senior Adult Luncheon will be in February. We are so blessed to be honoring our veterans this month!

"Connect Time"

We enjoy an all-church “Connect Time” from 10:15-10:30 a.m. every Sunday. It's a quick window to make new connections, renew old ones, grab some food, and have some fun. Join us in Fellowship Hall this Sunday!

Celebrate Recovery

We all have our personal hurts, habits, and hang-ups. And sometimes they reach a point where they interfere with the life God has designed for us. That’s where Celebrate Recovery comes in.

We meet in person every Thursday at 7 p.m. at Valley Avon. Come early for food and fellowship at 6:15 p.m. There is no sign-up, commitment, or cost. Just show up and follow the signs.

This 13-week group is for people dealing with the hurt and pain of divorce. Don't go through this life-changing experience alone! We meet Mondays at 7 p.m. beginning March 7, at Valley Simsbury Headquarters (3 Mill Pond Lane, Simsbury).  Book cost is $10.

GriefShare

This care group helps people who are mourning the death of a family member or friend. We meet Mondays at 6:30 p.m. beginning February 28 in Room 206 at Valley Avon. Cost is $15. For more information, email Mary at .

Hearts With Hope: A group for moms who have lost a child. We meet the second Thursday of the month in room 206 at Valley Avon.

Healing Prayer Service: Get prayer and encouragement from Valley leaders as you deal with your emotional or physical condition.  The next Service is February 7.

Faithful Hands: This group meets monthly on the 2nd Saturday and scatters to private homes to help with simple handiwork and odd jobs for people unable to complete them.

ValleyCare: Know of a job opportunity, or a place for someone to stay? ValleyCare connects such opportunities with people seeking employment or emergency lodging.

VALLEY OUTREACH

At Valley, we actively reach out to our neighbors in the community and around the world to share Christ's message of love and hope, and to "go and make disciples of all nations."
