What to Expect

Worship at Valley may be different from what you grew up with. We start off in song — large screens in front have all the lyrics, so you can join in right away. After we're seated, a short selection of scripture is read, followed by another song, during which offerings are collected.  Once the music stops, one of our pastors will deliver a 30-35 minute message.  Because our Sanctuary and The Venue are both quite large, viewing screens help us see the pastor clearly. When the sermon is complete we raise our voices (and sometimes our hands!) in worship one more time and receive a congregation-wide blessing before we depart.  A few other points:

  • Some of us dress up for church, and some of us dress casually. You'll see everything from suits to jeans. We welcome you to worship in whatever attire you chose.
  • We usually stand to sing, but don't worry, our worship leaders will always let you know when to stand and when to sit.
  • We rejoice in our ability to give to God, but we don't ask our guests to give.  Instead, share your prayer requests with us and let us pray for you.
  • We do Communion once a month, usually the first weekend. Our Communion takes place in your seat. We welcome anyone who has accepted Christ as Lord to participate.  No pressure.

For your children during worship

Your children are always welcome to stay with you during the entirety of worship. We're also happy to have them take part in communities built specifically for them.
